Maintenance Bond

Maintenance bond is a type of contract bond that is not required by law. If requested, the purpose of this bond is to guarantee against product defects (resulting from errors during the construction process) for a certain time length after the job’s completion.

Since it is not required, maintenance bonds are not applied as often as other contract bonds might. Maintenance bonds are only valid for a limited time, as specified on the bond itself. Once the term is up, the contractor and its workmanship are not liable or responsible for any possible defects emerging from the construction work.
